“Living without her
Living at all
Seems to slow me down…”
~ Ben Howard.
October 1986.
Rajani shows up unexpectedly at Samina’s apartment and reminds her that she’s still her business manager. What’s more, there are a number of offers for new films to discuss – including one with Manish. In Holland, Michael receives a “dear John” letter from Teena and learns that she has a new boyfriend and is deeply in love. Later that night, Michael shares with Bob details in the letter who takes him to the “boats” in Utrecht to cheer him up.
At a photo shoot for an upcoming movie, Manish and Samina are reunited. After some playful banter, Manish makes a playfully romantic gesture which breaks the tension between them. Later that night they once again resume their affair, but an emergency call from his manager about his wife sends him out the door without a word to Samina. Angered by his behavior, she phone her mother the next day and pulls out of the project.
Meanwhile, Michael takes a trip to Paris to get over his recent breakup and finds himself walking in Vincent’s footsteps from the Montmarte to Luxembourg Gardens.
