At the Sea Rock Hotel, Ronit Thakur talks with Manish about the possibility of getting Samina to star in his next movie and complains that Rajani hasn’t accepted multiple generous offers and keeps asking for more money. Manish suggests a more direct approach and passes along Samina’s phone number.
Meanwhile, Michael returns to Sardinia with Bob and his new roommate, Tom. Back in the chow hall, Tran spots him once more and sits at his table, to the surprise of Bob and Tom, and asks to meet him later that night. During their walk, she shares how her and her sister ended up in Houston after leaving Vietnam.
Ronit phones Samina and she agrees to meet with him about his upcoming project. Intrigued by the plot for “Sir Hindustani,” she insists that her mother handles all of her business affairs but offers to talk with her mother anyway. The next day, Rajani meets with Ronit and demands a king’s ransom for her daughter to do the part. Desperate to get the project moving, he finally relents. Later that night Adil, Ronit’s younger brother, argues with him about signing Samina and shares his worries about the needless financial risk of Ronit’s decision.
