Gaines and Al swing by Michael’s dorm room and take him out for dinner once again. Later that evening, Michael tells Gaines that he can never repay his kindness for all the dinners over the years, prompting Gaines to tell him to “pay it forward.” The next day, Michael meets Mark and a “new guy” who just arrived in country and invites them out for drinks at “Toucans” bar in Utrecht.
Meanwhile, Samina grants another interview while staying at the Sea Rock Hotel. As the reigning number one queen of Bollywood, she no longer has the patience in fielding the same tiresome questions and ends the interview abruptly.
Michael arrives at Toucan’s bar and immediately notices a young woman sitting at the bar who appears to him as a pillar of light. Settling into a booth with the other two guys, Michael finally musters enough courage to ask the woman if he can buy her a drink. Elisabeth says yes and they spend the rest of the night talking and Michael gets her address and phone number before leaving.
Samina calls up Manish and they in a hotel suite for one final tryst. The following day they finalize their divorce. Meanwhile, Michael attempts to call Elisabeth but is stopped by a vision of the future.
