“I feel so alone on the Friday nights
Can you make it feel like home if I tell you you’re mine?”
~ Lana Del Ray.
March, April & May 1991.
Roger brings Michael to “Joe’s Kitchen” for lunch. When they’re ready to order, a stunned Michael recognizes a familiar face since Tran’s twin sister, Tam, works as a waitress. When she confronts him for staring, he explains that he knows her sister from his time in Sardinia. Later, Roger asks Michael about whether or not he’s going to finally break up with Sue.
While Samina shoots the movie “Sundar” in London, she receives shocking news of her father’s sudden passing and immediately flies to Madras. Ronit meets her at the airport and remains by her side throughout the ordeal. Before returning to London, a distraught Rajani breaks down and reveals to Samina the true extent of their precarious financial situation.
Michael breaks up with Sue and stops by Gary’s apartment to share the news. Drunk and angry for a perceived betrayal of their friendship, a knife-wielding Gary clumsily attacks Michael.
Meanwhile, Samina finishes shooting and returns to Bombay. Back home, she admits to Ronit that she’s seriously considering retirement. Ronit encourages her to reconsider and suggests that she should move in with him and his family while she grieves her father’s death. As Samina packs up her apartment, both Adil and Moni, Ronit’s wife, argue with him about making such a reckless decision.
