Vincent meets with Dr. Peyron and they discuss whether or not he’s ready to leave the asylum. With the doctor satisfied that Vincent can make the trip, he begins packing up his belongings while Jo confides to Theo that she’s nervous about meeting Vincent for the first time.
In Arles, Gaby is pregnant with her first child and thanks her mother for arranging the marriage. A grateful Collette shares with Gaby how she fell in love with an artist when she was sixteen and nearly ran off with him to Paris. Meanwhile, Charles visits with Madeleine in her family’s home and learns from her father that Emile has been speaking badly about him. Clearly upset, Laval writes to Emile who remains in Lille at his grandmother’s home.
Vincent finally arrives in Paris and stays with Jo and Theo, and delights in seeing his little nephew face to face. Full of plans for the future, he arrives in Auvers after a weekend with his brother and checks in at the Ravoux Inn.
