“My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on the limb
And all I remember is thinking I want to be like them…”

In Paris, Jo receives word of Theo’s death in Utrecht. Out of options, she decides to return to Holland. Her brother, Andries, checks in on her while she packs and advises her to leave Vincent’s paintings on the curb since they’re not worth the cost of shipping. Defiant, she refuses to leave Theo and Vincent’s legacy behind, despite Andries’ insistence that Jo is crazy to throw good money after bad.
Gauguin visits his family in Copenhagen, and shares his plans for traveling to Tahiti with his wife. In order to raise the funds for his trip, Paul stages a public sale of his paintings in Paris.
In Bilbao, Tiena realizes she’s pregnant and shares the news with Isolda. Juan Carlos, who spends half of his time on the farm and the other half at “Casa de Mara” is overjoyed at the news of becoming a father. Overcome with emotion, he sweeps Tiena off of her feet and professes his eternal love.
Jo arrives in Bussum, Holland, and opens a boarding house to support herself and her son. After unpacking and hanging many of Vincent’s paintings on the wall, she sifts through a large bundle of Vincent’s letters which Theo saved over the years. Later, she meets with people in the community and confides in her diary a plan to promote Vincent’s art and legacy.
